Well I have finally gotten all of the cars out and the sidewalks cleared here in PA. Now it is time to get back to work. Took this picture from the front door a few minutes ago.
Now I have been taking the Powerstart 2010 course that I recommended highly last month. Did want to do a quick update on exactly what has happened in the first two weeks. If you have been struggling this is definitely a course that can get you on track. You will need to have about 20 hours a week to commit to it as it moves fast but you will end up with a complete business and all the knowledge to grow it.
The first week I brain stormed an idea, generated the keywords, bought a domain, installed a blog. Created articles and posted them to the blog and created a free report and squeeze page system. Now this was all covered in step by step detail through 14 videos.
Doug also added a Skype chat where we all interact and help out each other. That has been invaluable for the newer people.
Week two has seen me add a resell rights product for sale and convert a PLR product and get it on line. Again all was covered in 6 step by step videos.
So half way through and I have a new blog, a new squeeze page system and 2 products to sell. Been a busy 2 weeks and 2 more to go.
Next week we will be adding video to the mix and generating traffic.

The Writer’s Secret is the latest product released from Marlon Sanders and I just grabbed it. Now that is not unusual as I own quite a few of Marlon’s products and have benefited from each.
So that being said I am not always the most unbiased reviewer when it comes to Marlon’s products but that is strictly because of my personal experience with them.
Now don’t let the title of the product fool you. It is not just for writers although Marlon is a prolific writer it will work for any type of content.
The book is 155 pages and Marlon estimates you can read it in less than 3 hours. Not quite true though. I read it in less but will be spending a lot more than 3 hours as I wrote 4 pages of things to do with what I am doing off the first read through.
Actually the damn thing will probably take me that every day for the next week or two to apply the information to my current products. Of course I expect the changes to make me more money so it is time definitely well spent.
Like all things the application of the information is the real test and I don’t have those results at this point but what I have learned has definitely convinced me that the time would be worth my while.
So if you have products online I definitely recommend you grab this and apply it.
For people that are brand new this lays out a business model blue print that you can start applying immediately. It covers the steps you need to accomplish in order and ways to make your stuff unique.
The section on building your sales letter and the bullet method are worth more than twice the cost he is asking if you apply them just once.
The templates and the instructions on adding an upsell are easy to use.
All in all Marlon lays out a good business model and covers a lot of stumbling blocks. The key will be to actually apply what he teaches. If you do this it is way under valued for what you get. If you take no action or if you stop the first time you try something and it doesn’t work perfectly save your money.

Of course you do but it is not always easy to get more followers that are targeted.
Yes there are a variety of services that can get you more followers but targeting them has always been a problem. Once you have targeted followers it is easy to make Twitter be effective.

With the current economy there are lots of people looking for work or worried about their jobs or needing a way to increase their income. All of these have led to people looking at the internet as a possible solution.
Now there are a huge variety of ways to do this and unfortunately there are too many out there looking to promise the world to line their own pockets with your money.
Here is a way to build an online business that works and is sustainable.
You start with a blog and getting it set up with the proper plugins. You will need to link it into various Web 2.0 sites like Twitter, Squidoo, Hub Pages and others.
Set up a squeeze page and an e-course to start your list building. Once you have this set up you will need a product. The easiest way to do this is to find a PLR product or a resell rights product so you have a way to start monetizing what you are doing.
Now you could do it with your own product but it is easier to start with a PLR or RR product to save you time. Then as you are building your list you can ask exactly what people want and supply it.
Once you have these things set up it is time to look at generating traffic to your sites. This is where article marketing, posting to your blog, video marketing and podcasting can start generating traffic for you.
Final step is to find affiliate products that you can promote on your back end. Finding the right affiliate products and using affiliate products with residual income can increase your leverage.
Now unlike the scams out there that make it seem easy this will take some training and effort but this is what it takes to make a sustainable income.
You can get complete training and accomplish all of these steps in 4 weeks working part time if you have the right mentoring and training.

The problem for most of us starting out to build an online business is the sheer volume of business models available online. Trying to pick one that will work for you and then maintaining focus on it is almost impossible without someone to show you the way.
As you get involved and grab some of the free information you end up getting on a variety of email lists or following a variety of blogs looking for the golden fleece.
The worst part is that all of them will probably work but only if you focus on that particular business model. I struggled for quite a while until I realized that you need to follow a single very specific plan and that only worked if you had someone to teach you and keep you on track.
When I finally realized that trying to do twenty things and changing direction every other month was not going to build a business I found someone to model. It wasn’t a formal mentorship but having that go to person made a huge difference in my business.
I now had a plan and was going down a path that would help me build a business. Over time that business has changed but the online market place changes so it is just the way it is.
Since then I have had a few mentors as my business has grown. Over the last almost two years I have been very active with Team Champigny and have seen the growth in the new members of the affiliate force.
When Doug Champigny told me he was going to open a mentoring program I knew that it would be very helpful for my readers.

Regular readers of this blog know that I like and promote what Marlon Sanders does. His Marlon’s Marketing Minute which he puts out each week is one of only two newsletters that I read and act on religiously.
This is a list that I recommend that you get on and read. Go grab The Best Of Marlon Sanders if you are not already on his list.
In his first email of the new year he put out a check list of things that you should be doing to prepare for the new year. The turtles are also big fans and you can see the article over on Three Turtle Marketing.
The one item on the check list that caught my attention was when he said “Zig When They Zag’.
This really resonated with me and I had actually started towards that as I was going through my year end review of my business. That is part of why I was going through the reviews after Christmas of evergreen products that I use.
One of the things that create a quandary is the constant bombardment of product launches. If you are on more than a few lists (and you should be if only for swipe file fodder) you get the same offer at the same time from quite a few people.
Now I understand that product launches work and they are extremely effective. I have always been selective when it came to getting involved with new launches. The products had to be great and they have to be likely to be evergreen. One of the problems online is that things can change quickly and even things that seem evergreen can end up not being.
For example Clickbank Pirate while not for the person without a list is definitely a great way to add extra revenue by using their free reports on your back end.
Memberships like Resell Rights Fortune where you can not only get but easily find resell rights and private label rights products to build your marketing funnel will continue to have excellent value now and next year and beyond.
Those are just two but taking the time to show you how to apply these and reminding you about them is much more valuable for you in my opinion. If you disagree feel free to leave your comments after all the point of this is to help you with your business.
If I help you I will end up helping myself because yes I am in this to make money too. But looking at where I spend my money it almost always goes to those that help me. Might be one of the reasons I own most of Marlon’s products .
There will be the occasional new items that meet my criteria and not all the items and techniques will be for beginners. Hopefully I do a good enough job of making that clear as to what is for whom.
So it is back to basics time and avoiding the majority of the new launches. Quite often they require you to understand a, b and c and if you do they are perfect but for the most part I will be sticking to the basics and only where it specifically supplements what I have been talking about get into the d items.
I will still be looking for quality freebies to help you but think the Friday Freebies will be a thing of the past. Hard to find quality freebies and occasionally it may come back.
Not sure what I will be doing with the Week In Review. Your input on how you feel about that would be appreciated.
So look for lots of changes coming as the only guarantee in this market place is that things can and will change.
