One of the myths you see all the time on the internet is that you can build a business for absolutely no outlay. Guess what? It is a lie.

You can build a business for a minimal outlay. I attend the Swat Traffic seminars for upgraded members regularly. Each Wednesday night there is a discussion of business building tactics.

A few weeks ago Jon Olson outlined how after doing like most of us and jumping from program to program he decided to invest in his business. He took the money he would have spent on junk food like pizza each month and used that to create what has since become a six figure business.

The Pizza Plan

You can grab this report for free. It is an easy read and you may initially look at the shortness and write it off. Don’t. Short, concise and packed full of what we call in the seminar rooms “golden nuggets”. Grab it today and apply it.

You won’t be sorry.

You will get a chance to rebrand it and to be able to give it away to build your list.

The Pizza Plan

Grab it today and apply it.

As always your questions and comments are welcomed.

Last night because Jon Olson was enroute to Vegas (yes I am jealous) so I oversaw the Swat meeting for Captain members. If you are not an upgraded member of Swat Traffic the weekly meetings are worth the price of the upgrade by themselves.

We kicked around a few ideas for topics and decided to talk about Giveaways and List Building. This is probably one of the most overlooked ways to get your list building started.

Now you need to have the following to participate in the giveaways.

A product

An autoresponder

A squeeze page system

A host to put it on

SIgn up link for a giveaway

Lets walk through the steps one at a time.

Product – if you have one fine but if not the easiest way is to use a PLR product. Right now until Sunday you can get a bunch for free at The Free PLR Giveaway. Personalize this and you have the first part done.

If you are not comfortable doing this there is a great tutorial at How To Become A PLR Pro.

Autoresponder – My personal recommendation is Aweber for a great variety of reasons but primarily for deliverability. Getting your email delivered is the prime feature and there’s is one of the best.

Squeeze page system -The easiest way is to grab “How To Build A Lead Pulling Squeeze Page” if you are not comfortable creating your own. That will give you the 4 pages you need to build your system and some great tips on how to monetize it. This can make using giveaways profitable from the very beginning.

A host to put it on – You need to be able to host pages and this means you have to have web hosting. (You really need web hosting to have an online business no matter what you may have heard.) You can get good solid hosting at a reasonable price at Zoot Host and if you need a domain you can get that there too.

Sign up link for a giveaway – The next giveaway which starts next week is The Halloween Giveaway. If you hurry you can get a gift in there. You can also sign up for my JV list and find out what giveaways I will be promoting at http://mikepaetzold.com/jv/

That is the steps you need to take advantage of these promotions and start building your list this way.

Note – There is one thing that I skipped that will make the difference in how well these work for you. The email follow up series. You need to make sure that you are targeting this list with the topic you used for your giveaway. For more information on how to do this make sure that you have downloaded my report “Build Your Business Series” which I give away for subscribing to the update list here. Sign up in the upper right hand corner.

As always your questions and comments are welcomed.

Mike Paetzold

P.S. I have been posting some great PLR tips over at my other blog and hopefully making it fun to read too at Three Turtle Marketing. Check it out and if you like it subscribe there.

Yes the crazy canuck has gone over the edge. Apologies to any Canadians but I have always kidded Jon Olson about being the crazy canuck.

He has just started a relaunch of Swat Traffic and if you have not joined you need to today.

==> Swat Traffic

He has really gone crazy on this. Here is why.
- $5 to sign up
- Special offers for upgrades
- $1 per referral
but only for the next 48 hours.

I almost never promote traffic exchanges but here is why this is the exception.

The results I consistently get at Swat Traffic are almost always in my top 5. The special seminar he holds weekly for the upgraded Captain members are absolute dynamite.

The information you can get there if you take action on it will be business changing.

==> Swat Traffic

This is a must use resource and I look forward to seeing you in the seminars.

As always your questions and comments are welcomed.

Was an interesting discussion in the Swat Captain’s seminar last night that got me to thinking. (Always a dangerous thing ) If you are a Swat Captain and don’t attend you are missing the boat on some great business building information. The weekly conferences are more than worth the price of the upgrade. Click the link below if you don’t belong to Swat Traffic and join and upgrade today so you can be there next week.

Swat Traffic

Now before you misunderstand I like and use traffic exchanges. They can be a very effective way of generating subscribers. This is not a rant against traffic exchanges.

The other major point is that if everyone did what I am going to talk about traffic exchanges would cease to work. The good thing is that 90% or more of the people using traffic exchanges will never get this and complain that they don’t work. But…

If you are looking to create a real business this is a mindset change you need to consider.

What is your time worth?

A point brought up by both Robert Puddy and Soren Jordansen was that you should be buying credits instead of surfing for them. It is what I do.

The reason behind it is that with the price of credits you should be able to generate the cost back quickly and your time would be better spent working on the steps that are necessary to do that rather than spending the time and effort surfing.

Let’s break it down with some examples.

First you need a total system. If you don’t have one then you need to start building one. For me I use a squeeze page and have a follow up email series attached to it.

I can average a signup for about every 120 page views so that means I get 8-9 subscribers per 1000 credits. Becuase I have built my system I know that each subscirber is worth $1.30 through the warm up series. (Even more long term.)

8 x $1.30 = $10.40

As long as I am buying credits for less than that they are virtually free. (Yes I pay first but within a couple weeks the money comes back.)

Now it took a while to get there and I will bet right now you are saying to your self “That is fine for you but...”

If you said that you are missing the real point.

If you weren’t surfing two hours a day to save some money would you have the time to create, track and improve your system? Wouldn’t your time be better spent doing that than generating traffic you can’t convert to a positive return. If you can convert it to a positive return wouldn’t your time be better served adding more systems to your business when you can get the traffic for virtually free?

Really interested in hearing your opinion on this. If there is an interest I will do a series on how to create the system. Depends on how many people actuallly comment and get the concept.

Mike Paetzold
