Well hope you survived April Fools Day and are having a great week end. Google was definitely a winner in the April Fools jokes with a variety of items from their services.

This means that the year is now 25% completed. Are you on track and where you want to be?

Between finishing up taxes, yes if you are in the US April 15th is almost here, and a new project have not put out as much content this week as is normal. Will be getting back to normal a bit later this month.

Week In Review – March 12, 2011

Well the snow is finally gone from the backyard here. First time since November. Spring should be coming soon. (At least I hope so. Awful tired of winter here.)

The week has been quite busy but then that is not unusual here. Added a video walk through of Marlon Sanders The Traffic Dashboard in the post below here so you can see exactly what is included and why I am so excited about it.

Had a great conference over at Get Referrals Fast on Thursday and you can attend each Thursday at 8 pm est. Details are added to the training blog each week.

Google Panda update (Farmers slap) has continued to be a big topic of discussion. Nicole Dean and Susanne Meyers just released a new product about that called Article Marketing Revisited.

The update has actually increased their traffic and they explain why. Offering it at an extreme discount for the first week and the first two days all of the proceeds will be donated to help the tsunami victims in Japan.

The Traffic Dashboard Finally Released

Marlon Sanders just released his Traffic Dashboard. I grabbed mine immediately. Have been watching it shape up as he has been testing things in the A-Team webinars. Was so impressed that I grabbed it immediately.

Week In Review – February 12, 2011

Hope you had a great week and have taken care of your Valentine or are willing to face the accompanying wrath. (Not recommended from experience.)

If you like and use PLR (and you should be) this has been a great week and it has gotten better. Rosie Cottis has just started a Valentine’s Day sale. Grab any 10 packages for $57 or any 5 packages for $37 and save up to 50% on these packs.

Finally Susanne Myers has announced a price increase Tuesday on her Affiliate Niche Packages and released a new one. The new one was on Migraine Headaches and surprise of surprises Nicole Dean just happened to release an article package on that topic the same day.

Coincidence? No, I know they are friends and talk frequently so I am sure it was on purpose and makes for a perfect reason to grab both packs and use them together.

Week In Review – December 4, 2010

Well December is here and the winter has arrived in PA. Thermometer on the back deck has already been below 20 degrees and seems to be staying below the 40 mark even during the day.

Hoping my blood thickens up as I know it is not unusual but after no fall to speak of it has been a shock. Three weeks until the big guy in the red suit arrives. Where has 2010 gone?

Personally started my year end review and planning in a serious manner this week. Have a great freebie this week for you that I am using and recommend you follow the same steps.

The turtles have been sluggish with the weather change so nothing from Baby but there has been some great posts to help you this week.

Finding the right piece does not have to be hard

Have you ever put a jig saw puzzle together without the box cover to go by? Or worse yet, the one that is nothing but a big red circle all the exact same shade of red? I hated that puzzle.

Putting together an internet business is a lot like that. Lots of interlocking pieces that need to fit together to make it work.

All the little technical pieces can seem like huge stumbling blocks. You are working hard and all of a sudden you feel like you hit a brick wall. Your script won’t work properly. your payment button does not work, or any number of things go wrong. They do not have to be.

It amazes me that more people don’t take advantage of some of the things the internet provides. There are tons of answers to the items that stop you when you are putting the pieces together to your puzzle.

One of the easiest to use is Google.

Got a question on how to do something type that into Google.

Type in your question by just asking. For example if you want to know how to link your payment button to Paypal ask “how to link your payment button to Paypal “. Just did that and came up with a ton of answers.

If that was the piece you could not make fit I am willing to bet that one of the top 3 or 4 answers will answer your question and allow you to overcome that road block.

Yes, you may not get the answer with the very first one, but it is very rare that I am trying to do something that is stopping me that I can not find something to help by asking Google.

If that did not work for you, or if you like to watch things being done, go to YouTube. Do a search and once again the odds are there is a video that will show you how.

Once again the same search comes back with almost 7000 videos. Now as I looked through the first page of results there were only a couple that had been returned that looked like they would be helpful.

Yes I would have had to go through and read a few descriptions to see if they applied but there were a couple that should be helpful.

There are other places too but for me 99% of the time a couple minutes at Google or at YouTube will blow away most of those brick walls that are stopping you from putting the internet marketing puzzle together.

Next time that frustration hits you take a few minutes and search the answer. It is probably already out there if you just ask the question.

Next time, don’t sit at the desk letting the frustrations build or be ready to throw the da** computer away. Spend a few minutes using what the internet offers and just get it done.

If you are at the point described above it may be better to go take a walk and calm your self down first. That has saved my computer on more than one occasion.

Now if they only had the answer to which piece fits where for that big red circle puzzle I might still have some hair.

Backlinks Matter

Unfortunately the internet is not like “Fields Of Dreams”. If you build it they will come. NOT!

Been there done that and it does not work.

Yes, adding quality content can and will get you some traffic. If you really want a lot of traffic you need to build back links to your sites. Do that and you will see an increase in your traffic.

Now I am reasonably sure that if you have been online more than a week or two this is not a new concept. Yet the vast majority of people I talk to don’t take the time and effort to do it.

Ever wonder why?

I can guess. It is not an instant fix. You have to do work. You know that nasty 4 letter word most people avoid as much as possible.

That is why so many popular products offer the instant gratification solution. Unfortunately they either cost a lot of money or they are gaming the system and sooner or later the system reacts. Why do you think there is so much itching when Google changes their algorithm.

It is much better to set up a regular system and take a long term view. Once you have built links they stay. They don’t have to be done over and over you can just add more.

Susanne Myers has created a course to walk you through exactly how to do this and what works best. She has used these exact techniques to add almost 70,000 links to one of her sites.

More important is how she set it up. You get a lesson a week which consists of 2- 5 pages with an action plan for that week. Rather than some huge course you get it in easy to digest pieces that you can do right now.

Week In Review – September 11 , 2010

Definitely a different type of week this week here. Started with a holiday, a birthday and a loss. Ends today with the anniversary of an infamous event.

Well the fall season has started and things will be moving quickly between now and the end of the year.

There were a couple great PLR packages released this week and look for lots of launches to be hitting your inbox.

Understanding and having your own plan will be a key to navigating some of these. It is easy to get off course by the new shiny objects but if you have a plan you can ask a simple question. Will this help me right now to move my business forward?
