Wowzers! January is just about gone. 2011 is already flying or it may just be me being old. Either way it begs the question are you on track for 2011?

Personally I have been a bit behind here the first two weeks but have been catching things up the last two.

It is important that you have your goals and that you are tracking what you have accomplished. If you don’t then you have no idea where you are going to end up.

Leveraging various Web 2.0 sites together can be very helpful. There was a new free plugin released today that weds Twitter with your WordPress blog.

It will automatically post your new posts on your blog to Twitter for you plus add your latest tweets to your blog side bar with their widget.

Now I have not been promoting my Twittter page in my emails (a mistake I will be fixing but adding this and having my Tweets on my sidebar has tripled the number of followers I have been getting over the last few days.

Hopefully you can see the power of this. It took me a bit to understand the power of Twitter but adding this to the power of your WordPress blog is an absolute no brainer.

Yes there are other services that will post your blog to Twitter but this is the only one I have seen that supplies the widget for your blog and is free too.

3 Ways To Get More Traffic To Your Website With Teleseminars

One solution to this problem is holding a teleseminar.

A teleseminar is simply a phone call where somebody (i.e., you) talks to somebody else (i.e., a guest expert or just the audience) about a specific topic of interest.

Affiliates then spend their time and energy sending you traffic and you can spend your time concentrating on holding an excellent teleseminar.

Now that you have an offer and know the customer that you are looking to attract it is time for traffic. Notice how most people focus on this first before they have ever created a system.

On that note my good friend Soren Jordansen has a great post today on How to put up your squeeze page and monetize the process. If you are still working on this take the time to see the various ways he shows you to monetize this process.

Now to traffic.

The fastest way to generate traffic is probably pay per click. Not always the best but you can set up an AdWords campaign and generate traffic in 15 minutes to your site.

This costs money and the learning curve can be a bit steep but if you do it properly this can be a very good traffic source.

Other paid methods would be buying ads, buying credits in good traffic exchanges or credits in credit based safelists.

You can also earn traffic. This way you swap your time for your money. If you are in the make money niche these can be very effective. They would include good traffic exchanges and credit based safelists.

You can also generate traffic through article marketing and blogging. All of these take time but the last two especially can bring ongoing traffic for one time effort.

Finally you can borrow traffic.

The best way is by having an affiliate program. With my affiliate programs lots of people send me traffic and in turn I pay them a percentage of any sales they generate. Having your own product makes this a great way to get additional traffic to your offer.

You can also do swaps with others in your market place. If you read Soren’s article above you can use your thank you page to promote my list for your new signups and in return I would promote your list to my sign ups. This can be a very effective way to get extra traffic and be a win – win for both parties.

Late yesterday afternoon I got an email from Marlon Sanders. Nothing unusual there. I follow Marlon regularly.

My surprise was that as soon as I started to read it I said “Oh my God – She’s back.”

Now he hadn’t said a name but I knew immediately.

See when I was starting out with blogs I came across this lady that was teaching traffic techniques that no one else was. She is one of the people
that pointed me in the right direction for getting traffic and making my blogs work.

Needless to say I immediately clicked the link to buy this new product from Marlon.

Now she hasn’t been active sine the end of 2006 and if you go look at the page you will see that her traffic had become unstoppable even now in 2008.

3 hours later I had an action list for my sites from items I had never thought of using.

Pay particular attention to what she says about RSS at 18:40 in part 2 audio. This alone was worth the price.

The information on using article marketing really turned on a few light bulbs for me and no it is nothing like Bum Marketing.

Make sure that you are paying real attention at the53 minute mark of part 1. Again, many light bulbs went off and I decided to climb the tree.
