Is consumer mindest hurting your business?

I know, I know most of us are both but…
When you are talking business you need to look at it with your business viewpoint not your consumer viewpoint.
Recently a great hullabaloo started over a new ebook launch that shows people how to properly use the No Script plugin for Firefox called All About Addons.
Now Sunny took a controversial approach with her title of the book No More No Scripts and rather than actually read it people started trashing it. Now a more descriptive title would have been How To Use No Script Properly but that would not have the effect that her title choice did.
See the book shows people how to use No Script properly. Telling people to use it and not teaching them how to optimize their usage is irresponsible as the cost to various marketers when people can’t buy because the payment button uses java script. Some can’t sign up for a free report that they want because of it.
These are things that no marketer wants to have happen. I have people call and complain because I “did not have a button” for them to buy a One Time Offer that they wanted because they had no script on.
Then there were the people that were disgusted that she would give away quality information but monetize it with an OTO. Gee aren’t these people marketers? You don’t have to buy it if it does not help you but being upset because it uses a proven business model to monetize a quality free report - Oh my must be the spawn of the devil - NOT.
Come on get out of your consumer mindset and stop shooting your self in the foot. Forget your personal dislikes and test things and use what works.
Hey I don’t like slide ins or exit pops but they work so when you visit here you see them. They generate income which allows me to continue to have time to add valuable content here. That is how I can give away valuable free content because there is no need to sell it. The other items generate the cash flow and allow for the free content.
Finally some have taken the viewpoint that no one should use java script on their pages then it would be a non event. Well java script runs so much of the web that is not possible. Java script items are some of the most valuable things from a marketing viewpoint. Course if you are thinking like a consumer and not a business owner you probably aren’t making any money either so you can continue to complain about how you aren’t making money or teach people to use these things responsibly.
Get All About Add Ons and promote it to your subscribers as this will benefit all of us that run businesses.
