Are you getting good at something?

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Today I wanted to discuss something that is probably one of the biggest killers of new people and some older people in getting your business going. It came to me during a 3 hour call Willie Crawford and Doug Champigny did last night on 14 ways to generate traffic.

Aside – The call was great and if you did not attend you should go pay for the replay and transcript which will be available next week. Sign up here and you can get it at $20 savings before the 9th.

They were discussing 14 different ways to get targeted traffic to your sites. The thing is some of the ways they both used and some of the ways only one used extensively.

The key was to get good at a specific way and understand how to use it in a time efficient manner. Then track the results so you know what your return is on your effort.

Too often we try to do all 14 things at once. We end up doing none of them well and have absolutely no idea what worked and what didn’t. (Notice the use of we I have definitely been guilty of this.) All too often nothing works because none of the many things were done properly.

Here is an example. If you want to use Twitter to drive traffic you need to understand a few things.

  1. How to get targeted followers
  2. What tools to use (most are free)
  3. How to track your results
  4. How to manage your time effectively.

See Twitter can be addictive and become a huge time drain. Manage your time and know your results and you can realistically decide if it is worth your effort once you are using it properly. Just go out and do an occasional tweet and then be sucked in to the socializing and it can be a business killer. (To better use Twitter check out Advanced Twitter Marketing – gets two thumbs up from me.)

Willie talked about article marketing and how a single article could make thousands of dollars but most don’t and you need to be doing more than just a few to get that kind of response.

Like blogging it is the sum total of what you are doing that will make it powerful and work the best for you. Just doing one article and deciding if it is worthwhile will rarely work for you.

The point is that YOU need to get good at one thing at a time. Focus in on it and tweak it then and only then add a new item. Test and track all of them and as you keep adding more ways for traffic put your time and effort where you get the best return. Each person’s business will be different.

All of the 14 ways covered in last night’s call work and can help your business but only if you take the time to get good at them one at a time. The same applies to all aspects of your business.

Go sign up and grab the discount on the call and transcript while you can then start applying them one at a time to grow your business.

What did you accomplish today?

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

One of the things I rant about regularly is taking action. Now lets be clear this is actions that will move your business forward not the maintenance crap that is necessary but can overwhelm you.

Taking the time to accomplish at least one step to improve your business is the key. It is a brand new month and the year is half gone. Are you satisfied?

I am not but then I wasn’t taking action for a couple months. May and June have been fantastic but March and April sucked. I spent as much time on my business in those months but I was in a funk and not completing things. Too much perfectionism and not enough “Git R Done”.

The difference is amazing in my bank account and that is the ultimate measuring stick.

Today is an example. Had a lot to get accomplished and I want to go chase the white ball among the trees this afternoon. After all through the rest of this holiday week end it will be too crowded at the golf course.

Will be leaving for there as soon as I finish this post. Here is the morning schedule.

  • Got up and made coffee always my first priority ;)
  • Fed the turtles and sat down to check email and support
  • Shared the overnight items from my Google reader that were worthwhile
  • Sent out the daily ezine
  • Ate breakfast
  • Ran to the supermarket
  • Added the new month of content to Super Traffic MRR to drip out later this month
  • Created the new freebies for Freebie Friday
  • Created the offer for Saturday Seven
  • Attended Marlon Sanders A Team call
  • Did my blog post

Now I am off to chase the little white ball under every tree on the course. What did you get done?

Mike Paetzold

P.S. Don’t forget the Traffic Tips Call with Doug Champigny and Willie Crawford tonight at 9pm. You need to sign up to attend. There will be a replay but it will be a paid product so you really don’t want to miss this call.

Birds, Cats and Dogs – Super PLR Pack Just Released

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Once again Doug Champigny has released a great PLR package for the pet niche . This time there are 3 PLR e-books with sales letters, and 10 articles for each for 3 different aspects of the pet niche.

The topics are

  • Pet Birds
  • Owning A Cat
  • Dog Breeding

When deciding whether or not a PLR product is worth the effort I crank up the software and see if I can find free traffic to send to these and is it buying traffic or as my buddy would say just lookey loos. After all besides being old and bald I am cheap ;) .

I prefer for these types of products to set up a blog, add some good content, submit some articles and if I did the right keyword research I can have a good flow of traffic going.

Next I want to see what else is for sale out there. For this I like to use PayDotClickBank Alert as if you upgrade (and it is only $25 for the year)you can sort through both Clickbank and PayDotCom at one time. That quickly shows me quite a few products that I can add as resources to the PLR book.

Running the keyword research shows me a minimum of 12 keywords that will generate traffic and are easily obtainable for pet birds up to 40 keywords fitting the same parameters with breeding dogs and owning cats coming in at 25. Grab the package and I’ll send you the keywords I found.

So a few minutes research shows me that each of these can be profitable and look to be worth the effort. If you already have a site related to any of these topics this is a must grab.

If you are looking to start some sites in the pet niche this is a great way to get started. So if this is for you here is your action plan. Remember that you need to take action to benefit.

  1. Send a copy of your receipt to http://askmikepaetzold.com and Get the keywords
  2. Go find 3-5 products you can recommend as resources at PayDotClcikbank Alert
  3. Do a quick edit of the first ebook you like and add your resources. Decide if this would be a better product or a list building ethical bribe. (See Niche Affiliate System for a more complete how to on that.)
  4. Decide to go grab a new keyword rich domain or whether you already have an appropriate domain you can use.
  5. Edit the sales page or change it to a squeeze page and upload your pages to the domain you pick.
  6. Add a blog on the domain and link to the sales page from each post
  7. Use the articles that come with the package to start your blog content (Rewrite them quickly to be unique ) and start submitting the articles to the article directories.
  8. Add in more articles for the keywords you want to rank for and blog them and submit them.
  9. Rinse and repeat with the other two products.

Track your results and you can add other traffic sources like Squidoo, Hub Pages and podcasts if you want to step it up even more.

So grab the Pet Super PLR Pack today and get started.

Manage your time and focus your business

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The biggest problem that most people I talk to have is information overload. This is really easy to succumb to. To avoid it I have been re-visiting things that I know are stumbling blocks for me. By discussing them this should help you.

The first person who has really helped me in this respect is Marlon Sanders. His ezine consistently discusses the actions you need to take and what matters. You can see some of his best by signing up to get the Best Of Marlon Sanders ebook. It is a compilation of some of his best ezines. Then make sure you do what is necessary to make sure you see his ezine and read and apply what he talks about.

The second person that has helped me to get organized and focus on what is important is Robert Plank. His Time Management On Crack has allowed me to pay attention to the things that really matter, The items that will make a return but more importantly to get things done one at a time. Kill the multi-tasking. Keep the focus. Eliminate the outside items while working.

Finally my good friend Joel Osborne and his Twitter prodding with “Have you taken massive action today” tweets. You can follow Joel and have him prod you too.

All of this has caused me to take some of the following steps in just the past week.

I am sorting my email and using the unsubscribe links. If the person does not give me information I can use and I tend to ignore the email most of the time why am I on that list? Doing this has made a big dent on my inbox saving me time. Hey even if you are on my list and you don’t read it or it does not help you then unsubscribe. It removes clutter that stops you from doing the important things.

Create my four must do tasks each day. These do not include any maintenance tasks like email, the support desk, etc. but are 4 tasks that will actually help my business.

For example Thursday most but not all of my list was based around finishing Twitter Time Saver.

  1. Email about teleseminar with Doug Champigny on using Twitter and prep questions (Replay is available here.)
  2. Finish the sales page
  3. Create the download page
  4. Final edit of report

By getting those items done I was able to hold a successful teleseminar, review and test everything for Twitter Time Saver on Friday and launch it on Saturday. All of those tasks were focused on something that can earn me money. Too often we get busy on the 80% that don’t bring results.

Now the regular tasks will get done like my blog posts, answering support inquiries but taking the time to prioritize the things necessary to make money was the key.

So by focusing on a very specific few things and doing them to completion I am able to move things forward faster.

So my new goal is massive action on specific tasks each day that I work. What is yours?

Week In Review and Twitter Time Saver

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Well it has indeed been a busy week here in PA. After a nice holiday week end the weather has been bad with consistent rain which has allowed me to concentrate on getting things done instead of being distracted by chasing the little white ball in and out of the trees.

That has led to the launch this morning of Twitter Time Saver. It was the result of a conversation with Steve Roye. We were discussing integrating Twitter into his blogging efforts and the real way to use Twitter as a marketer by following the tips from Doug Champigny in Advanced Twitter Marketing.

I said don’t forget to integrate the latest news in your niche with your Friend Feed and use that to add even more valuable information to your followers. He asked where is the report where I can see all the steps? Twitter Time Saver is the result and it will help you become an expert on any subject quickly. Not a bad thing if you are a niche marketer.

Look for more new items coming shortly as I apply the lessons from Time Management On Crack. Now to the blogs and then the news.

Social Bookmarking Explosion – New free ebook from John Merrick, that will help you understand and use effectively bookmarking and other social networks.

Call with Doug Champigny on Twitter Marketing – Thursday night it was my pleasure to interview Doug Champigny to discuss using Twitter for marketing. He addressed my two concerns getting targeted followers and keeping your time spent effective so you get a ROI on it. Listen to it before I take it down.

Power WordPress Users – New service I launched for those that regularly add new blogs to their portfolio. Not for the brand new person but a great time saver for power users of blogs.

I will be re-opening my coaching but need your input into what form would help you the most. Please take the poll here to allow me to structure this to help you the most.

Mark your calendar right now for Thursday at 8 pm. I was lucky enough to get Doug Champigny to agree to come provide you with some great information on Twitter and marketing for free so don’t miss it.

Now first a bit about Doug.

Doug has been online full-time for more than 12 years, and has been on the edge of most of the new ideas over the years like blogging, using videos, PLR, etc.

As a result, Doug’s been involved in Web 2.0 from the beginning, and was the featured Web 2.0 speaker at the “Super Conference” in Las Vegas last year. Doug has gotten tired of some of the nonsense offered on Twitter so you can come find out exactly how he uses Twitter and ask your question this Thursday.

Once again mark your calendar right now with this information.

DATE & TIME: Thursday, May 28th at 8:00pm Eastern

Advanced Twitter Marketing – What others say

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

I have been talking about the new Advanced Twitter Marketing from Doug Champigny on this blog, in the Week In Review and via email There is a reason it is the first Twitter resource for marketers that I have seen and tested that works.

Let me define that term works-

Following the plan generates targeted subscribers and sends targeted traffic where I want it.

It is not just me though that likes it although you will find a testimonial from me on the sales page.

“You blueprint and your time saving tips will make my time spent on Twitter many times more productive. That’s one of the things that I struggled with since Twitter is so addictive. Thanks for telling me how to handle that.”
– Willie Crawford

“I’ve been around the block when it comes to books on Twitter but I can tell you this. if you miss this book you’ll kick yourself silly because Doug will show you exactly how to profit with this little gem.”
– Peter Parks

The real key though is the non name people that are seeing results from this product. After all I had over 2000 followers when I started using this so I wasn’t a newbie on Twitter. That has more than doubled though since applying Doug’s techniques in 2 weeks.

You have hit this one out of the park with your new Advanced Twitter Marketing System!

Within less than 24 hours on a brand new Twitter account I had over 250 followers and was already driving traffic to my blog, affiliate links, and free offers. At the time I was only halfway through your ebook and was just getting started with the meatier part of it.

-Brett McElhinney

Created a new Twitter account and followed all Doug described steps one after the other. Actually it didn’t take that much time. I was up and running in two hours. I started to follow 250 twitterers in the first hour using the techniques described. I did the follow-up as described and my Twitter account moved within 72 hours to 300 targeted twitterers following me.

Results followed almost immediately, got 5 subscribers to the blog newsletter and I sold two niche products in the following 3 days!

So I’m now a firm believer in Doug’s Advanced Twitter Marketing tactics, moving in the meantime to his next chapters explaining more tactics and tips.

- Fred Lotgering

Your ebook has turned around how I now use Twitter. Thank you very much for this ebook. I implemented your system and in the first 24 hours I was following 653 and had had 499 followers.

Now before I wouldn’t have thought much about that. But using your methods, I know that most of those are targeted followers. They are involved in and interested in what I am doing.

- Lonnie Minton

There are even more people saying the same types of things about this system. If you are serious about marketing you should be using Twitter but only if you are using the techniques Doug teaches in Advanced Twitter Marketing. It does not matter if you are a “name” or brand new. Follow the step by step plan and it will work for you.

Week In Review – May 23, 3009

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Well it is the beginning of the Memorial Day Weekend here in the US and that is the start of summer around here. Now a lot of people will say how summer hurts the online biz but I have always done as well or better during the summer.

Probably because I maintained what I was doing and did not let others influence me that I would be wasting my time and money during the summer because everyone was on vacation. Keep improving what you do and you will be surprised at the results. Enough from the pulpit let’s get to the news.

Sunny Suggs of Bootscottin Traffic and a few other programs is enjoying her first day online working full time. She set a goal a year ago to quit her job and be full time and she did it. If you use traffic exchanges check hers she is having a huge party to celebrate with lots of bonuses.

Whats New

Advanced Twitter Marketing - Finally someone has come out with a resource for marketers to use Twitter effectively. The two big problems presented by Twitter for marketers are addressed – Getting targeted followers and keeping time to a minimum. By solving these two problems Doug Champigny has created the ultimate guide for marketers. This can have you profiting from Twitter with in the week.

Membership Gold Rush – Cindy Battye shows you exactly how to use membership sites as a way to create ongoing residual income. This is the way that Sunny was able to retire from the JOB market. At the least you need to grab the free first module but you really don’t want to miss the section from Soren Jordansen on monetizing these types of sites.

Niche Affiliate System – Entering a new niche can be fraught with peril. This plan will show you exactly how to test out a niche and prepare for being a product owner before you spend the time or money to create it.

Affiliate Payraise – Jimmy D Brown has just released this report to show you exactly how to get more from your affiliate marketing. Jimmy is one of those that has been around a long time and has a great way of teaching.

Thats all for this week if you are in the US I hope you enjoy the holiday weekend. Remember that summer can be a time of increase in your business if you keep working. Don’t listen to those that tell you to pull back. I won’t be.
