One of the best ways to build your list is to have a product. You can give it away or better yet sell it and make it viral. That was the basis behind the $7 Secrets report. Write a report and instead of using it as a giveaway sell it for a small price.
This way you gather a buyer’s list. Even more you can leverage others by allowing them to sell the report and keep 100% of the proceeds. This allows you to gather additional buyers to your list. Yes you give up the money but a list of buyers can be extremely profitable.
That is the basis I personally used with my Word Press Made Easy membership site. I could have easily given away the report that I sell and maybe gotten more members. However, then everyone that joined would not have had a reason to tell others about it. Everyone they told that bought they made all the money. Yep I gave away 100% of the profits.
More importantly, everyone that joined had actually been proven to be a buyer.
How much more valuable is a list of people who are interested in Word Press blogs and have shown they can and will spend money on the topic than a list of people that took a free report.
That is the power in having a product. It doesn’t have to be a huge tome to be effective. Most people understand this but the thought of actually creating such a thing overwhelms them. Is this you?

You have to spend money (or in this case give it away) to make money.
I’m going to try this technique.
