Put in half the hours and double your commissions!
So, what’s your success rate with the affiliate campaigns that you embark on? During the early days, I remember a lot of them conking out on me in spite of the considerable research and time that I spent on them! After multiple failures I realized that I was spending too much time and effort and getting very little out of it (hardly in proportion to the investments of time that I was making…).
I slowly started shifting gears. Spent time learning how to get things done right, before jumping into the exercise of actually doing them. Even something as simple as article marketing – for instance, I think it’s amazing how much more traffic the same bunch of articles bring in if they go live on a certain time period as opposed to another. And no, I’m not talking astrology here
This is apparently a well-known “technique” called Piggy Backing. Plan ahead of time and watch out for product launch/release dates – those which create plenty of hype are the ones of interest to you. Build your own reputation as an authority of the niche, and get your articles out there when there is relatively little keyword competition.
You would have hopefully grabbed top spots in Google almost easily this way – and then when the much-awaited time for launches grow closer, the hype seeps in, the keywords get more searches, and bingo, your affiliate advertisements (the soft-sells in the articles) get a lot more visibility than they would have if you had posted them, say, a few months after the launch.
There are a bunch of other tips that have turned out to be oh-so-handy – and I have actually seen my sales rise and the time spent drop dramatically when I keep them in mind! I originally found them at The Ultimate Affiliate Guide To Quick Cash. The report is available at no cost whatsoever, so you really have nothing to lose – I would strongly recommend that you give it a serious read (avoid skimming, really, you’ll thank yourself for it later – each nugget of advice is worth taking to heart).

Mike,
Great info! I wasn’t aware that there was a method of submitting articles to coincide with product releases.
I will have to get this report and read how to ‘effectively’ use affiliate marketing.
Thanks.

Your right… good focused work can be done and completed quicker than if we are not sure we know what we are doing, or if we just are not realizing there’s a better way to do it. I think it comes with trial and error for the most part, but we just have to track to see where our time is spend and the results.

Speaking of piggybacking, Mike, here’s another tip to go with your article marketing timing. Don’t write 10 articles on a topic, or have them ghostwritten, and then submit them all at once. You get far better results using the ‘drip system’, where you submit just one of them every 2-3 days. That way your articles show new for a month straight, and the links back to your site build over time, the way the search engines feel is best.

Had never heard of piggybacking before now. I can see where it could make a big difference in the way an article gets more attention. This is truly a good tip and one to really pay attention to as it could help with your website. Thanks.

Wow!
Great tip Mike.
I had never thought of it that way. Will definitely start using this method when it is feasible.
Also like Dougs comment above about drip-feeding your articles to the article directories.
Thanks!
