How do you stay organized and on track?

  • Sharebar

One of the biggest problems I have had is getting organized and staying that way. One look at my desk would let you know that not having clutter isn’t possible for me.

Organized chaos would be a polite description of my desk.

Running projects though used to mean a separate folder for each with notes attached as checklists.

Then I started using mind maps to lay out projects. I started with Free Mind but it took 6 months and 3 tries to really learn how to use it and make it part of my business.

I knew that I needed something like this to be more organized but…

The learning curve killed me. That was why I would use it for a few days, then get frustrated and go back to my legal pad. It wasn’t clean but it was comfortable for me.

Well they say the third time is the charm and about a year and a half ago I started getting comfortable with using Free Mind. It allowed me to lay out my projects and unlike my legal pad I could change things easily and it reduced the clutter on my desk too. ;-)

I have it open constantly now and use it not only for big projects but for organizing an article or even a blog post like this. See the map below.

Mind mapping is something that everyone tells you to do but learning how to use the software even though it is a free software can be frustrating to be polite (which trying to learn this I wasn’t).

Imagine my surprise when my friend Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins launched his new site – Discover Free Mind.

Boy do I ever wish I had had this site two years ago when I first started mind mapping. If you know you need to get more organized and want to learn how to do this without the frustration go let Bob teach you.

Discover Free Mind

I did and grabbed his full package and I can tell you that even after using Free Mind for over 18 months regularly I still found new things that I hadn’t discovered in his teaching.

This gets one of my highest recommendations and it will allow you to get much more done in much less time. Go get his videos at

Discover Free Mind

I did.
