I see you use free mind too. I've had some luck with it, but it gets funky every once in a while. Still a great way to put a lot of ideas in one place and sort them out. As to your main point, I'm guilty of being a multi-tasker, and try to have multiple projects going at all times. I don't recommend it. I've been trying to focus for some time now, but find that a lot easier to say than do. Right now I have a major project and a handful of minor things I am doing each day on blogs, affiliate marketing etc. Plus a bit of a backup plan should my major project not take off next week as hoped. I don't dispute your thoughts here, just find my style it to do multiple things. I am getting better at many at the same time. Now it might go faster if I was doing just one. But then I would need to put all my eggs in one basket. And there's a story about that too.

Great post with one of the best analogies I’ve seen, Mike!

The online business equivalent to your Dad’s steadying hands is a mentor or coach – something you’d be very qualified to offer, Mike…

One addition to the analogy for those shooting for the big leagues – my first bike was way too big for me, and my Dad added blocks to the pedals til I was big enough to use the bike without them. But as a result, I was on the path to riding an adult-sized bike long before my friends.

In Internet marketing, that same help getting to the ‘big leagues’ comes from networking and, most importantly, from mastermind groups. Pooling efforts with others of approximately the same size in online biz is the fast-track to bigger successes – as long as listening to your mentor and being active in your mastermind group becomes a habit, not a chore.

You are so right about this subject. There are times when it can get really frustrating and you want to give up. You see others around you that are doing it and making it look easy. You have to learn that some learn quicker than others. And what is to say that you end up doing it better. Almost like riding your bike with no hands. Oops, I fell again.

Great analogy Mike. I don't really remember when I was young trying to learn to ride my bike, but I can only "assume" that I crashed a few times (or maybe that's why I can't remember it :).

There have been several projects that I have worked on online that havn't been as successful as I had hoped. But just like a bike, you have to get back up and try again.

Great post Mike!

Four very basic points to be successful.

Actually I like the bike portion most. Being Dutch I always thought bike riding came together with birth. So now I'm not sure if I was too young to remember it or if I'm now too old to remember it.....
