Twitter – Are you using it?

  • Sharebar

Twitter has become a hot term. Oprah has publicized it. Watch the news and you are likely to get a mention to follow the news team on Twitter. Even Pro Football players and agents are using it for publicity.

Everybody is talking about it but the questions are…

Can you use it effectively for your business?

Can I make a return on my investment?

The answer is yes if you understand it and use it right. That is the key. Anywhere that you have that many people and that much buzz is the perfect place for a marketer to be.

The problem is you need to attract the followers. Just like building a subscriber list you need to attract people that are interested in what you are selling. You then need to build the relationship to cut through the clutter.

You need to do that without taking up an inordinate amount of time. I will warn you that Twitter can be very addictive and if you allow it it can become a huge time waster.

You need to understand how Twitter works. You are restricted to 140 characters each time you post. To understand the basics of Twitter I recommend you check out Twitter Effect 2.0.

Once you understand the basics then you need a specific plan to generate followers that are interested in your topic. You need to manage your time effectively.

Fortunately, there are free tools available that will allow you to do a lot of this automatically or at least partially automated. You will always be in the equation because it is you that is providing the value that draws and keeps people’s attention.

Advanced Twitter Marketing lays out a step by step plan and has been proven to take even new people with a basic understanding of Twitter and have them generate 500 followers in a week or less and start generating email subscribers and sales in that time period.

The final step is to provide cutting edge information to your followers. If you are like me you get way too much email but despite the clutter there are certain people that there name alone is enough to get you to read their email.

I am sure that is because you always get great value from that person so they have moved to the must read list. You need to become that type of person to your followers.

You do it by becoming a leading edge resource for your topic.

This is something that can be a time killer if you don’t automate at least the gathering of the latest information. This can be accomplished if you know how in less than 30 minutes a day and I cover all the steps in Twitter Time Saver.

So the answer to the two questions is a definite yes. I add followers, subscribers and make sales with Twitter each day and spend less than an hour on it.

It can be done in any niche easily if you understand the process.

If you need help with that check out the following resources.

Mike, reading Doug’s Advanced Twitter Marketing caused me to revamp my entire approach to Twitter. It was essential reading and gave me a strategy I could follow, but it also meant more work. Your Twitter Time Saver gave me the leg up on that. I now have seven twitter accounts that I am building, and if they are going to be successful in the long run, I need to provide them with worthwhile
information and not just affiliate offers ten times a day. Your system has allowed me to do just that for all seven lists in about 30 minutes a day. Some days a few minutes more others a few less, depending on the level of new information I find. When I started Dougs book about two weeks ago now I had about 1000 followers and was feeling pretty good about it. Now I’m at about 4500 spread over the seven lists. Some are pretty focused and I am now looking to build long term relationships and not just volume. The combination of these two eBooks has made what was a haphazard aimless Twitter adventure into a marketing machine. Thanks for sharing.
