Rant, goals and how to help you
One of my goals this year has been to provide more valuable content for my readers and email subscribers. With all the hype around one of the things that seems to get overlooked in all the hype and promotion is how to get started.
Hey I see lots of great products and recommend lots of great products but there has been a real lack of items to help people get started.
Now there is a good reason for this. It tends not to be profitable.
See people don’t buy what that need but they do buy the dream. That causes a lot of people to get frustrated and it is partially there fault. Now most people need to know how to pick a niche, find what they are going to sell (yes if you want to make money you need to sell something) but will buy something like a $7 script, a membership site script or the latest conversion tool and would not buy information on finding your niche or locating affiliate programs to have something to sell.
Now there is nothing wrong with these types of products and they can be very useful for building your business if you have actually started a business, know what your topic is and have a sales letter or a book you will want to sell. However, if you haven’t started or picked your area of focus these are actually starting at step 7 and you are at step 1.
See the products are good and do what they are supposed to but if you don’t have the first 6 steps they are worthless to you.
To help overcome this problem I have started creating some very basic information. I want to start at step 1 and help you get to where the step 7 is of value to you. Some will be free content and some will be for sale. (Hey, I got to eat too
) and yes there is an ulterior motive too. If I help you through the first steps you are much more likely to purchase products and get use out of them when I recommend them. That way we both win. You get something you can actually use and I can eat
.
Here are two of the free ones to get you going.
1. I am doing a series on niche selection at Amplification Marketing. This will walk you step by step through how to find your niche and be sure it has potential.
2. I have put a video below that gives an overview of what I do before I start a new blog.
Really would love to get your comments on this topic and whether or not you find this type of information useful.
