Conflicker and more
First this is important.
Conflicker worm has started to emerge and looks like it is a nasty one. If you run regular updates from Microsoft and keep your programs updated you probably don’t have to worry but you should run this quick check.
All you need to do is go to the page and see if you get all 6 images to load. If you do you are probably fine if not there is an explanation on the page.
Feel free to pass that URL around to anyone you like. The more people know if their systems are infected, the better.
If you do show a problem then disconnect from the internet and find a machine that is not infected and go get a copy of Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool at
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/
Do not reconnect to the Internet until you’ve run that on the infected machine.
Thanks to Paul Myers of Talk Biz who brought this to my attention. Have you grabbed your free copy of “Why Johnny Can’t Sell”?

Hallo MIke,
Thanks for the Conflicker test. Happy enough my laptop passed the test. But I’m taking care of being up to date with Microsoft and the free versions I use from ZoneAlarm and AVG.
Going to check why Johnny can’t sell now1

Thanks for the Conficker test Mike,
Looks like my laptop passed. Had to spend a whole day at work the day before it was supposed to let loose patching computers that did not get the required updates for some reason. So yes, I know how nasty this one can be.
Thanks for making sure as many people as possible get the link to check their computers.

I found the Why Johnny Can’t sell to be a good read, in fact I need to read it again. A lot to think about and take action on. Appreciate the link.

Mike, thanks for the Conflicker info and check. I was able to see all 6 images so it looks like my computer is ok. I use ZoneAlarm on a regular basis. With updates and ZoneAlarm I hope I stay protected.

Thanks for the pointer to the Conflicker test, Mike – as professionals in the online world we owe it to our readers, JV partners and other contacts to be sure our machines and sites aren’t firing out malware. Now that even cell phones can get and transmit virii, it’s imperative to be vigilant at all times.

Thank you Mike for helping to keep us informed of all that’s going on. I don’t think any one person can be aware of everything, so we need people like you sharing the important information.
That virus checker page is a cool idea, very simple way of checking to see if you have the virus.

Does that Conflicker test really work? I’m not so sure…it seems like a good piece of link bait though.

Thanks for the Conflicker link Mike.
I wasn’t all that worried about my computer being infected (I work as IT pro, so I know my systems are all up to date and protected), but I went ahead and visited the site to check it out anyway….all of my systems passed
Thanks for the links for Blogging4Seniors and Paul’s book.
Keep up the good work.
