A lot of gifts can be a distraction because one will tell you how to make money with CPA or in the "forex niche" when all you're trying to do is build a list in the "abc" niche. Like you say Mike, you got to keep your business plan in mind. I have to agree with you about asking the questions of yourself before you begin downloading products from giveaways.

Another question that I ask myself, and can’t really answer until I download the gift and opt in to whoever’s list, is; will this person provide me with some quality information through their ezine/newsletter that I can actually learn from or are they just using the giveaway to build their list?

In that respect, regardless of the product, downloading can be a crapshoot.
