Affiliate Marketing Series
If you are a regular reader here you know that I like to do different series on topics to go deeper in depth on a specific topic. The next one will be affiliate marketing.
Would love your input into what you would like covered and what would be most helpful for you in such a series.
So far have the following topics for this…
-
Discovering good products
-
Pre-sell tactics
-
Generating traffic
-
Resources
If there are other specific things you would like covered please leave a comment below.
Thanks
Mike Paetzold

I would assume it would be for list building, how about setting up the autoresponders with messages. What steps and what or who do you use.

I would like to see ways to collect the customers name and email address before sending them on to the salespage. If you drive the traffic you should at least be able to build your list with that traffic.

I like Andre’s and Shelby’s input. W would like to see you take Andre’s a little farther and include a discussion of content post in your autoresponder series – how many, spacing, type, etc. Also should the content posts be follow up or broadcast messages?

One interesting idea to look at is how to do research about your competitors. I think it’s important to know what your competitors are doing, but sometimes it can be hard to figure that stuff out.

I agree with a couple of the other comments Mike… Using squeeze pages with affiliate products is a big issue for building your own lists with affiliate products..

Looking forward to the new series, Mike! Planning it as a how-to series on affiliate marketing or showing what’s working for you currently and how people can improve their existing affiliate efforts & results?

Hi, Mike!
Hoping you’ll cover how to create resources for affiliate marketing in the niches – I know free giveaways are big for building lists specific to a niche – but how best to create them, what size they should be, etc, would be great info to have! Especially for tough niches like travel, kids, pets, etc.

Looks like the making of a great series Mike,
Couple of things. Where would be some good places to find affiliate products. Most (but I’m sure not all) know about ClickBank and probably PayDotCom, but what are some of the others?
Something else might be how to go about deciding on a product.
Can’t wait for this to take shape.

Mike,
I like Shelby’s idea and the others have covered pretty much what I was thinking when I was reading the posts and then comments.
Can’t really add much more. Looks like it will be a real interesting series. Looking forward to it.
Thanks,
Ron

I see you have a lot of ideas already. My biggest problem recently was with a squeeze page to which I was sending 25 PPC visitors a day and had only 1-2 sign up to see the actual sales page. I’ve made some changes, and am happy but I as still under 1/3 clicking trough to see the actual sales page. What would you say is a normal click though rate? I expect some drop off, with every new click, but my drop rate is way too high.
