5 Ways To Use PLR To Increase Your Business
5 Ways To Use PLR To Increase your Business

PLR or private label rights products are often looked down upon by a number of people but using them properly they can be a great tool to build your business.
Here are 5 different ways you can use PLR to increase your business.
- Create your own product for sale
- Create an ethical bribe for your list building
- Create your email follow up series
- Create blog content
- Create video content
Before we get into each item you do need to understand that this will take a bit of that dang old 4 letter word – WORK. But it takes a lot less than it would to start from scratch. Someone has done the bulk of the research for you.
For an example we will discuss how you could take a few PLR products and make a complete sales and traffic system from it. This will usually take a complete PLR package or a few PLR products on the same topic. This is a model I use regularly.
Create Your Own Product
This is where most people usually start out using PLR products. You find a quality product on a topic you have researched and found to have profit potential.
Edit the book, audio or video that you got. Add in your own referral links for related products. Change up the graphics and either create or edit the sales letter. You now have a new product.

Create An Ethical Bribe
To get someone to sign up to your list you need to have something of value. I call this your ethical bribe because that is what you are doing. Bribing them to give you permission to contact them in return for what ever you are giving away. It needs to have a value that overcomes their reluctance to get more email.
Depending on what type of product you created this can be an audio interview, a free video or a report/e-book of some type.
The process is similar to creating your own product with PLR except this time you will be adding a squeeze page instead of a sales page.

Create An Email Follow Up Series
This will allow you to easily populate the follow up series for the people that have signed up through your squeeze page. You can use an article pack or split apart a report to create an ongoing series of emails each of which will send people to your sales letter or another related affiliate product.
Now you have a way to keep in touch with prospective customers and continue the conversation and build the relationship with your potential customers.

Create Blog Content
Blogs especially properly set up WordPress blogs are loved by the search engines. This can allow you to get free traffic from the search engines. Using PLR articles that you have re-written or splitting apart a PLR ebook can allow you to target the keywords for your product.
Link from each blog post to your squeeze page system and you now have a good traffic source to start building your list. Let the email follow ups send them to your product.

Create Video Content
Video through You Tube and other sites can be a great way to generate traffic. PLR video can be easily edited to create these videos or you can use article content to create a power point video by adding the article content and doing a voice over of it.
You will find that video PLR is readily available and can make great products also.

Conclusion
These are 5 ways that you can use PLR to build your business. Just make sure that you double check the rights document that comes with all PLR. Not all items called PLR have the same rights and you want to make sure that you do not violate the rights for any package.
Combine all 5 and you have a complete marketing system for your new product.

I have not tried the video content you suggest. That’s a great idea taking plr content and creating a PowerPoint presentation and converting it to video. I’ll add to to my marketing strategy

Nice advice Mike! I like the idea of videos, since a lot of marketers are still not using videos to their full potential, it allows those of us that do to really stand out, even if the content is PLR.

Great list of ways to use PLR. Don’t know why you had to bring up WORK. But I agree that it will be involved in just about any utility that one wants to make of PLR content. As you stated it is always wise to verify the rights document that comes with all PLR before you decide what to do with it.

Some great tips for starting with PLR. I especially like the bit about videos. It is becoming just about mandatory to have video on your website. And you have provided some good ways to make use of videos. Thanks for the help.

Great advice regarding PLR, Mike – and I’d like to add one more use: turning PLR articles into podcasts… By creating audio versions of PLR articles, you can use your podcasting stream to draw traffic to your blogs from great directories like iTunes, Podcast Ready and Podcast Alley, exposing your marketing funnel to millions more potential prospects.

Yes, PLR is like having someone do preliminary research for you. It’s raw material that you can craft into multiple formats. And no reason why you can’t use a series of blog posts on a topic and then turn those into a product. Using the same material twice. And since you are rewriting the material for your blog, just one more tweak and it becomes an article for the directories.

As always Mike, great post.
PLR is underestimated. This could be because there was (maybe still is) a lot of junk out there. I can’t tell you the countless times I bought material that was worthless. Poor content, appalling ‘english’, worthless.
But there is good content available from reputable sources. The the key is to use it, not as a finished item but repupose it, fully leverage it and make money from it.
One great TIP I’ll give to those who have not experienced this yet: don’t just think of reusing it in a variety of formats …. having done that into, say 8 new products …. reuse it for different niche markets or subniches. Now you have the possibility to multiply those products with anly very little more work.
A quick example: suppose you have articles on laying the foundations for business success and you create article, video, blog stuff from it. Ask your self, which of my markets is this for? Use the exact same material like this:
=> Chef Special: Laying The Foundations for Your Own Business Success
=> Foundations For Success For ChildMinders
=> Foundations For Fundraising Success
… and so on. Most often this will simply require need a new banner, cover graphic and new keywords. Very little rewriting.
Thanks again Mike….
