One of the biggest things I see and hear when talking and helping people is the things that they can’t do. People have a tendency to get overwhelmed when building their business.

Let’s take list building. There are a lot of things that need to be done to do it properly and if you look at the total picture it can be overwhelming. After all you need traffic to your capture page, an autoresponder series, a give away or reason to sign up and then you need products to recommend and that is just the highlights.

Break it into steps and do one thing at a time and all of a sudden each little piece is relatively easy.

First figure out your niche or topic for your list. Once you have that and only then go to the next step.

Now that you have a topic and a target market that you are going to attract figure out what they want (not need) and now you know what to give away to get the signups. Find a product or create an email series for that.

Next you can worry about creating the lead capture page. It would have been quite pointless to do that first before you had decided what your topic was and what you were going to offer for the email address.

At this point we have done all these easy little things step by step. Next would be to locate products to sell for this list. They can be your own product, resell rights products, affiliate items or a combination of any or all of these things.

Set up your autoresponder now to create a relationship with the people who will sign up through your lead capture page. Make sure you have added in the appropriate products.

Only now do you need to worry about getting traffic to your lead capture page. The systems are set up and you are ready.

The last step will be to test and tweak the systems you have set up to generate the best profit for you. You may start out with using free sources but as you get the system working and generating income you can add other ways to generate signups.

Now you have taken it step by step by step to build a solid system.

This is a quick overview and you may need to break some of these steps down even more but if you do break things down into little pieces and start to take action on a single item you will surprise yourself with what you can do.
