Mike Paetzold Recommends

Phantom Link Cloaker 2.0 will be launching tomorrow at 10 am. I have been testing it for the last few days and I have to say it is a real step up from the original version.

Unlike most of the link cloakers or redirect scripts that I have tried over the last few years you can easily make any type of links that you want. No longer are you stuck with yourdomain.com/recommends/product but you can use any type of link easily.

For example I sent an email about the report they released as part of the pre-launch called Cloak and Dagger Affiliate Secrets and instead of having something like mikepaetzold.com/recommends/cloakanddagger I could use this link..

Allowing me to make a custom link easily. Did a promotion for a different product and was able to create a link that is targeted to that like this link…

and as long as it is not a folder that resides on your server you can make it anything you would like it to be.

You can create a light box pop over the page you are sending people with a delay that you set. This is great if you are sending new traffic to an offer because you can add an opt in form for your list before they get there.

The final feature that I really like only because it has happened to me is a custom 404 page. Have you ever screwed up a url when you sent out a promotion? This will allow you to at least take advantage of that traffic instead of getting the emails “Hey Dummy, The page does not load.” Not that you would do that but I know I have gotten those emails and deservedly so.

The installation is easy if you are on a Windows machine using the .exe installer. It does just about everything for you except create a data base. The tutorials are quite good and very step by step.

Now to the negative. If you are installing the script on a domain with WordPress in the root (like this blog is at mikepaetzold.com) then there are a couple more steps.

I have had some problems with getting all the features to work perfectly if you are using the All In One SEO plugin. It won’t show the custom title.

I did find a work around and have created a bonus pdf to walk you through all the extra steps and a replacement plugin for All In One SEO for those that purchase this through my link.

You can also have trouble with the light box pop if there is a video embedded it will cover that portion of the pop that you input.
