One of the best ways to generate traffic is to rank high in the search engines. Sometimes we make it to hard and here is an example of what you can accomplish.
Free and low cost advertising resources work when used properly. I know. I am proof.
Most of my business has been built using traffic exchanges, safelists, blogs and other free resources.
Today I want you to check out my favorite safelist and see the changes Jon Atwood has created. Ad Tactics was the first credit based safelist and has been a great resource for years. Yesterday that changed as Jon added new features, a new design and took this premier program to a new level.
To make it easier you can now schedule your mailings 24 hours in advance. A huge time savings.
For the first time Jon is allowing solo ads. (Solo ads can be a great advertising resource with the right offer.)
There is a new feature rewarding active readers. This gives members even more reason to read your ad.
Add in the referral contests and there are even more ways to get your ads out.
Now if you have never used a safelist I will make a strong recommendation that you get Soren Jordansen’s Ultimate Safelist Survival Guide. It is only $7 and will show you exactly how to deal with safelists and how to get the best results from them.
Yesterday I sent out an email and the response to be blunt was underwhelming. The problem is that it was for something quite unique and I obviously did a piss poor job of explaining it. Hopefully, this will help because it is rare to see something totally new.
Usually when something is launched it is a small twist on something that exists already. Example - List Bandit was a twist of Gary’s previous program Your Lucky List. Most of the list building programs along those lines are that way. Nothing orong with that and properly used they work quite well.
Co-Op Lists is totally new and not just a twist on a previous idea. Unlike List Bandit, Your Lucky List etc it is not based on you promoting it (although you can). Promoting it works like any other affiliate product and does not give you extra bonuses so you get the full benefit whether or not you do promote or don’t.
What it does do is build a list that you can mail to without having to do anything to create it. Yes no downlines to be leveraged just a list to use. That is big difference number 1.
See the program will generate the optins for you. Nothing at all to promote for you and more importantly it does not have to be internet marketing related niche.
It really is simple to understand how to build a profitable list. There really are only 4 steps.
1. Pick a niche
2. Write a report to give away
3. Get a system to handle the list
4. Send traffic to get people on your list
The steps really are quite simple it is the implementation that kills you.
Now with this you still have to pick the niche.
However,
They write the report ot give away.
They handle managing the list.
They send traffic to build the list.
That suddenly makes it doable for you doesn’t it?
They guarantee to get you at least 200 signups a month. And to do it month after month.
You get the report they create for that niche with PLR so you can use it for building your own list. Hey, that is still the absolute best way but do this and get started and work on your own as you go.
You will also be able to share others lists allowing you to get even more exposure.
Now if you are already building a list easily all on your own then this probably isn’t for you. If you are only adding one or two people a week to your list or you haven’t even got the basic strucutre to get started going then this is something you must look at seriously.
Finally, whenever I look at a new program you have to look at the people behind it. Can they deliver what they say and are they actually walking the walk not just talking the talk.
Robert Puddy and Pat Lovell are two of my mentors and I know them well. Between the three partners they have a combined list of over 150,000 so yes these guys walk the walk. If you are serious about building a business then you need a list. This is the easiest way I have seen to get started and really is a no brainer for anyone starting out.
Been a busy week this week. Only one or two things that got me excited though. We had Ben Mack on the podcast this week and it was extremely interesting. Ben just doesn’t quite look at things the way the average person does.
It really comes through in an interview Dave Lakhani did with him that I watched this week. I wil put the video below.
Here is what has come through my email box this week and my thoughts.
The Next Internet Millionaire Show has created two launches this week. Joel is is his wont had a twist and did a joint venture with both semi-finalists.
The first is Jaime Lupchak who has launched a book this week.
Last Ben Mack has his new home study course at Profitable Magic and the video of Dave Lakhani deconstucting him below. WARNING: Video does contain strong language.
Jon Olson of Hit Exchange blog had a thoughtful post at “Downline Integrity - The Big Debate“. He also writes Hit Exchange News and will have an article from someone on the other side of the debate on Thursday hopefully. (Despite my feeling that it is very detrimental to your business, I am always interested in seeing the other side of the coin.)
Recently in two traffic exchange forums there have been some heated discussions about dowline integrity. Really shows the difference between the business person and the consumer when it comes to marketing.
The problem is that the people pushing this are doing it for their own edification. It helps them and is the only way that they can find to get others to build their business. Course if you are already at the top of the pile you will proclaim loud and clear that it must be maintained. It benefits you.
This all started because they accused traffic exchange owners who promote anything to their members as stealing from their members.
Now in any other affiliate program (yes people a traffic exchange is an affiliate program) as an affiliate you get something for getting someone to take an action. Send someone to my WordPress Made Easy product as an affiliate and I’ll pay you 50% of the proceeds. This is now a customer of mine. You have lost all rights to tell me whether or not I can promote to this person.
Why is a traffic exchange different. You refer someone and you get something from the owner. It may be commission on purchases, an override on the credits they earn or a combination of both. That is what you get for referring them. No where does it say that you own that person.
Nobody owns this Old Bald Guy except me (and maybe Maude but that is my fault.)
The problem comes from people thinking that they have the right to use a program (most times for free) and have ownership over the assets (the membership list or at least the members that they referred and got paid for).
See if people would actually build a business and create a real asset by building their own list first then they could recommend all types of things to that list. If they build the relationship then people will follow them into other programs. It won’t matter what the owner of the program they referred them to does because they already have the relationship. That is the key.
So all you downline integrity backers wake up and smell the coffee. See who is pushing this and look at what you actually get from them. Remove the shackles and build a business for YOU and then you can be home and work on your schedule instead of still having that JOB.
Well it is the beginning of the month and time to do the monthly question and answer call. If you have any questions about WordPress or blogging in general you can ask them on this call.
Then ask your question in the form there and stop back on Tuesday to listen to the answer.
If you can’t make it the replay will be available after the call at that link also.(EDIT: Was aproblem with the replay so you can hear it at WordPress Made Easy blog)
Last week I tried this and got a good response. As long as people find this of value I will continue it. Please leave your comments so I know how you feel. Your input is always important to me.
We are in the midst of the busiest launch time of the year. Last year at this time was absolutely nuts and this year seems to be even busier if that is possible. This can cause severe information overload.
Below I will give my take on what I have seen of interest. The key though is for you to have a business plan then ask this question - Does this fit and improve what I am trying to do? If the answer is yes then give the offer serious consideration. If it will be a distraction or is not something you need RIGHT NOW ignore it. Keep your focus on your business and what you need to go forward. That being said here is what caught my attention in my inbox this week.
Ready.Aim.Wired - A new product launched by Steve Iser. My number one product of the week. Steve is an expert in using social sites such as MySpace for his marketing efforts. This product covers that but oh so much more. Even if you ignore the MySpace stuff (and you shouldn’t because Steve knows and teaches the right way to use this) the marketing information from him will make you stand up and take notice. After reviewing this product I understand why Yanik had him speak at his Unfderground Seminar. There is information here I haven’t seen before and I go through a lot of information every week.
8 Fold Path - This is affiliate training from Bob Jenkins. It is structured differently than any other courses and having taken this course on my dime I give it my highest recommendation. The second session is now available but only until the 8th of the month.
Profitable Magic - Ben Mack launched this Halloween night. A free interview and then the chance to learn branding from an expert.
Death of Google Adwords - Simon Leung’s new report on Google Adwords. Simon was a semior analyst for Google and whether you use adwords or not a must read to understand and get insight into the 800 lb gorrila on line. More details in the article below.
Expect to keep hearing about these programs in your inbox. Hopefully, this will help you decide if these are for you and save you some time. New list next week and your comments and opinions are always welcome.
Most of you know that I do a podcast with my partner each week over at The Mike and Erik Show. We record each Thursday so that with the post production we can get our podcast broadcast every Friday.
Earleir today we did the recording. There was a portion where I actually shocked my partner.
Now a bit of background here. We always cover the latest news with the launches of note in the Internet Marketing arena and usually don’t have any specific recommendations on any of the PPC products that come out. We don’t use PPC a lot so it would not be right to recommend something that may be excellent but that we haven’t tried or reviewed.
Well, one of the launches yesterday was from Simon Leung who used to work for Google in Adwords. The report was called “The Death of Adwords“. Now Simon is charging a nominal $2 for the report but what caused the shock was when I mentioned that I had actually bought it.
Erik was astonished. I don’t use Adwords as a major portion of my business and don’t usually buy anything about it because it doesn’t fit my current business model.
After we discussed it though he began to understand why.
Here is why -
Simon was a Google insider and understands the culture.
Even though Adwords isn’t big in my business Adsense (the flip side is).
Search engines (of which Google is the biggest) drive a lot of my traffic.
Things that effect search engines (Adwords being part of that ) will effect me.
It is only $2 (very cheap education)
Now a couple caveats to be clear. Yes Simon is looking to upsell you from the report (he is a marketer and a good one) and I do get something for sending you there. Not the reason for doing this as I hope I have explained. In fact I will put two links like I usually do with things I think are worth your while so you may choose whether or not I get paid as the point of this is to get you solid information not a money grab.
